The Maryland State Boychoir was founded in 1987 by Frank Cimino (Director Emeritus) with fourteen boys and a vision to create an organization where boys of all ages, ethnicities, and backgrounds could join together to sing beautiful music. Thirty-six years later his vision continues to flourish under the direction of one of his former choirboys, Stephen Holmes (Artistic Director). MSB's repertoire spans from the Renaissance through contemporary periods, spiritual, gospel, and world music.
As a choral organization, our goal is to develop musical and social skills in a fraternal community. All MSB choristers receive instruction in music theory, private voice lessons, and ensemble singing. The MSB is comprised of five individual choirs: Tour Choir, Concert Choir, Young Men's Choir, Treble Choir, and Resident Training Choir.
