2027 NAfME All-Eastern Honors Ensembles
The National Association for Music Education (NAfME) Eastern Division hosts a biennial Eastern Division Conference, as well as six (6) All-Eastern Honors Ensembles. This year’s conference and ensembles will be held from April 1 to 4, 2027, in Providence, Rhode Island, and will be hosted by our colleagues in the Rhode Island Music Educators Association (RIMEA).

About All-Eastern
The National Association for Music Education (NAfME), along with a host state, sponsors the biennial Eastern Division Conference. The states of the Eastern Division, which include Maryland, DC, all states northeast through Maine, and the European Music Educators Association, collaborate on the conference and Honors Ensembles.
Students from Maryland qualify by auditioning and being selected as members of the Maryland All State Senior Ensembles for two consecutive years. They may apply to All-Eastern prior to the 2nd year's All State audition process.
MARYLAND STUDENT SELECTION
Maryland is allocated a percentage of students at the biennial All-Eastern Ensembles, which is determined by the prior year's
MMEA membership size. Educators, collegiate students, and retired teachers can all be members.
In 2025, Maryland received approximately 5% of the All-Eastern ensemble spots and is the sixth-largest MEA in the division. (The largest two being New York and Pensyvlania with a combination of over 5000 members, providing those two states approx 50% of the ensemble makeup.)

Congratulations to the 33 Maryland students who applied and were selected to perform with the 2025 NAfME All-Eastern Honors Ensemble in Harford, Connecticut.
